frozen batata poha recipe


Preparation Time: 10 mins.
Cooking Time: 15 mins
Makes 2 servings


3 tbsp oil
2 tbsp peanuts
1 chopped potato
1 tbsp chopped cashew nuts
1 tbsp kismis
1 tbsp curry leaves
2 tbsp chopped green chilies
2 tbsp chopped coriander
1 tsp rai/sarson
1 tsp til
a pinch of hing
1 cup poha
salt to taste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp poha masala
2 tbsp powdered sugar
a pinch of citric acid (nimbo ka phool)


1. Heat the oil in a pan.
2. Add peanuts, potatoes & fry potato properly.
3. Add cashew nuts, kismiss, curry leaves, chilies & coriander.
4. Saute for 30 seconds.
5. Add rai, til, hing & poha.
6. Don’t soak poha in water, add directly.
7. Add salt, turmeric, chili & poha masala.
8. Mix & coat poha with masala & take off from the pan.
9. Add sugar & nimbu na phool & mix properly.
10. FIll it in a zip lock bag & freeze it in fridge.
11. Can be stored for a month.

For using:

1. Take 3/4 cup water & boil it properly & take off from the flame.
2. Bring the poha to room temperature.
3. Add the water to poha.
4. Cover & let it cook for 10 minutes & serve hot.

For poha masala : jeeru, mari, sanchar, chat masala in eaual proportion & grind properly.
