kathod muthiya subzi recipe


Preparation Time: 10 mins.
Cooking Time: 15 mins.
Makes 4 servings


For muthiya
1/3 cup cooked rice
salt to taste
a pinch of ajwain
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp red chili powder
2 tsp oil
a pinch of hing
2 tbsp gram flour
2 tbsp wheat flour
a pinch of soda-bi-carb
1/2 tsp lime juice

Other ingredients
2 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
a pinch of hing
2 grated tomatoes
1 tsp red chili powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp corinader powder
1 bowl boiled mung, math, choli
salt to taste
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp lime juice


For muthiya
1. For muthiya knead all the ingredients properly.
2. Make small muthiyas out of it.
3. Grease the plate & steam it for 7-8 mins.
4. Steam on a high flame.

How to proceed

1. Heat the oil in a pan.
2. Add jeeru, hing & tomatoes.
3. Saute until tomatoes are cooked properly.
4. Add all masala, 2-3 tbsp water & mix.
5. Add all other ingredients & mix properly.
6. Add 2-3 tbsp water & cook for 2 mins.
7. Add steamed muthiya & cook for 1 minute.
8. Garnish with grated coconut & serve hot.
