khaman puri recipe


Preparation Time: 10 mins.
Cooking Time: 15 mins.
Makes 6 servings


1 cup chopped coriander
1″ piece of ginger
4-5 green chilies
3 tbsp grated coconut
1 cup gram flour
1 tsp ghee
2 tbsp white sesame seeds
1/2 tsp hing
salt to taste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp chopped coriander
1 tbsp lime juice
1 1/2 tbsp sugar

For dough
1 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup maida
2 tsp oil
salt to taste


1. Dry grind coriander, ginger, chilies & coconut.
2. In a bowl, mix gram flour,ghee & make crumbly flour.
3. Add sesame, hing, salt, turmeric, coriander & lime juice.
4. Add prepared paste, sugar gradually & mix properly.
5. Make equal balls out of it.
6. Prepare medium soft dough using water.
7. Knead the dough & roll out into puri.
8. Fill in the stuffing ball & roll again into puri.
9. Roll out into thin puri.
10. Deep fry until golden brown on a low flame.
11. Serve hot with green chutney.
