Moraiya Ni Kheer with Khajur Anjeer Balls Fasting Recipe

Makes 2 servings

Ingredients

For khajur anjeer balls:
5 anjeer
5 khajur
2 tbsp milk powder
1 tbsp almond powder

For kheer:
1 tsp ghee
2 tbsp moraiya
300 ml milk
1/4 cup sugar
3 tbsp fresh cream (malai)
8-10 saffron strands
1 tsp elaichi powder
1 tbsp grated almonds and cashew nuts
a pinch of jaiphal powder

Method

For khajur anjeer balls:
1. Soak khajur and anjeer in hot water for half an hour.
2. Crush and roast them and add milk powder and almond powder.
3. Roast until it thickens and make small balls from the mixture.

For kheer:
1. Wash moraiya and soak in water for half an hour.
2. Drain the water from moraiya.
3. Heat the ghee in a pan and roast moraiya for 30 seconds.
4. Add milk and stir continuously and let moraiya cook well.
5. Add sugar and cook until sugar water is burnt.
6. Add cream and cook for 2-3 minutes.
7. Add elaichi powder, saffron and nuts.
8. Take off the pan from flame and add jaiphal powder.
9. In a serving bowl, place 3-4 khajur anjeer balls.
10. Pour kheer over it and garnish with nuts and saffron.
