Apple Modak Recipe

Preparation Time: 10 mins.
Cooking Time: 10 mins.
Makes 6-7 modak

Ingredients

1 apple
2 tbsp sugar
10-12 strands Saffron (kesar)
1 tbsp kismis (raisins)
1-1/2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
4 tbsp poha
2 tbsp sooji
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp milk powder
1 tbsp grated almonds

Method

1. Wash and peel the apple and grate it using grater.
2. Turn on the gas and tranfer agrated apple in a pan.
3. Add sugar and mix properly and cook until it thickens.
4. Add saffron starnds, kismis and mix properly.
5. Take off from the gas and keep aside.
6. In another pan, heat the ghee and add poha in it.
7. Roast the poha and add sooji and roast until light pink.
8. Add milk, sugar and cook for a minute.
9. Add prepared apple mixture in the pan and mix well.
10. Mix until the mixture leaves the pan and turn off the gas.
11. Let the mixture become warm.
12. Add milk powder, grated almonds and mix properly.
13. Make modak using the mould and the healthy & delicious prashad is ready to serve.
14. Garnish with grated almonds or pistachio.
