SOUTH INDIAN STYLE AMLA CHUTNEY RECIPE

Preparation Time: 10 mins.
Cooking Time: 1o mins.
Makes 2 cups

Ingredients

2 tbsp oil
2 whole dry kashmiri red chili
2 tbsp dalia dal
1/2 cup fresh sliced coconut
1/2 cup grated amla
2 tbsp jaggery
1/2 tsp salt

For tempering
2 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp sarson/rai
a pinch of hing
2 whole dry kashmiri red chili
5-6 curry leaves

Method

1. Heat the oil in a pan.
2. Saute chili & dalia properly in oil.
3. Add coconut, amla & saute for a minute.
4. Let it cool for 5 minutes.
5. Add 3-4 tbsp water & crush it properly in a mixer.
6. Add jaggery, 2-3 tbsp water & crush again.
7. Add salt, 2 tbsp water & crush one more time.
8. For tempering, heat the oil.
9. Add rai, hing, chili & curry leaves.
10. Once it crackles, pour over the chutney & serve.
